In Romania we are happy to represent the fruitfulness of the country by the wonderful results of our summer campaign. There were more than 1000 people that came to Christ in a six day effort.

Alin, our director, and the student missionaries that work with us were part of the larger team. We had three North American churches involved and we had some volunteers from Romanian churches as well.

The best part is that we are currently developing 41 church plants in and around the area where the campaign was held. Furthermore, our Romanian team seeing the format for the campaign for the first time, has reproduced two more campaigns in the southern part of the country. Tragedy struck in the first of the two follow up campaigns.

Pastor Nelu was killed when his car went off the road and struck a tree. It was a hard blow for the entire team. They all wept at the rendezvous point and faced the grim task of going back to share the news with his wife. This did not stop the campaign. They rallied their strength in the Lord and went with an even deeper message to share the sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifices of our team to bring the Good News to southern Romania.

A new church has been started in Oltenia, and a follow up campaign was provoked by the wonderful results. The Lord has again produced victory from apparent setbacks.

The need of the hour in Romania, in the words of Alin, our director, is that we have dozens of other students who want the opportunity to join us in planting churches. We just don't have the funds.

The local students are simply waiting for partners to sponsor them into evangelism and church planting.
