Special Report by Pastor Juan Sima Anvene
Our son, Ephraim, will be operated on this November in Spain. The doctors say that the rehabilitation will take two years following the surgery and for this reason we will remain in Spain during that time. Our plan is to make visits to oversee the work in Equatorial Guinea every six months, Lord willing. We have already rented a house in Spain. We will depart to Spain at the beginning of November since our operation date has been confirmed.
At the end of the two years we plan to return to Guinea to continue pastoring our church. Our actual mission is to pastor, but that involves ministering in our original church in the city as well as the supervision and ministry to our sister churches. Two of these sister churches already have their own pastor and building! We are excited to send our first missionary from Fruit in the Midst of Poverty our church this next year. In addition to these things I am working hard as the interim president of the Federation of Evangelical Churches in Guinea. Last week a WLM associated pastor from Oregon came and shared with the Federation what he shared in SEFOVAN several years ago and it has been a great blessing to all of us.
With regard to current projects we are undertaking as a church, we are working for the construction of a new school and an agricultural program. The most urgent need is the school project due to the fact that the children of the village are having their classes in the church sanctuary since we had to leave the last building. Unfortunately, the church doesn't even have the basic facilities of a school building. Therefore we need to build at least five classrooms in the first floor.
As far as the radio programs, we have continued broadcasting every Saturday and Sunday throughout all of Guinea. The Luis Palau Program is heard throughout the country. At other times, I am on the air and am able to preach live.
