The Foot of the Cross at The Valley of the Fallen, Spain

This is one of four massive sculptures at the 1,000 foot tall cross. This particular one is representing the Gospel of Matthew. The Lion of Judah is a Portrait of Christ.

The others are a Man on an Eagle, representing the Gospel of John; Man on an ox, representing Mark; and a Man and an Angel representing Luke.

The four sculptures by an artist named Avalos are six stories high. Four aspects of the Savior’s mission.
